Myrtle Royall Gilley

Mrs. Myrtle Mae Royall Gilley, age 86, of Lansing, North Carolina, peacefully passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Margate Health and Rehab. Her life was a testament to love, faith, and resilience, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Born on June 8, 1939, in Sparta, Myrtle was the cherished daughter of the late Thomas "Lee" and Vera Hatcher Royall. She was a devoted member of Peace Haven Community Church, where her faith and kindness touched the lives of many. Myrtle's warm spirit and unwavering dedication to her family and community were evident in everything she did.

For many years, Myrtle worked alongside her beloved husband, Ted Gilley, at Ted's Jean, where they built not only a successful business but also a legacy of hard work and commitment. Myrtle's laughter and joy were a constant presence in their lives.

Myrtle is preceded in death by her husband, Ted, and eight siblings, including her dear sister-in-law, Audine Royall. She leaves behind a loving family, including her two brothers, Curtis Royall of Dobson and Russell Royall (Linda) of Joppa, Maryland, as well as her two sisters, Barbara Gwyn (Marvin) of Alto, GA, and May Jane Lyles of Alto, GA. Myrtle is also survived by several nieces and nephews, who will carry her memory in their hearts.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Margate Health and Rehab and Medi Home Hospice for the compassionate care and support provided to Myrtle during her time there.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with speaker Curtis Lee Royall officiating.
