Myrtle McGlocklin "Elizabeth" Hess

Myrtle Elizabeth McGlocklin Hess a/k/a Elizabeth M. Hess (Liz). Elizabeth passed away November 16, 2024, at the home she shared with her daughter in Sarasota, FL.She was born on March 10, 1940, in Glade Spring, VA, to the late Oakley and Roxie McGlocklin. She was a retired LPN II and lived most of her adult life in Richlands, VA.
She moved to Sarasota, FL, in November, 2022, to be with her daughter. She enjoyed reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing games and shopping with her daughter, and singing classic gospel hymns. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James McGlocklin, brother John McGlocklin, and sister, April McGlocklin. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cynthia Hess Dye; her brothers Roger McGlocklin, Frank McGlocklin, Robert McGlocklin, Ronald McGlocklin, David McGlocklin, and Michael McGlocklin; her sister, Patricia Kestner; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and many friends. A memorial service in Virginia will be announced at a later date for the Spring, 2025.
