Nachat Nagib Eskandar, 78, of Camillus, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday.
Born and raised in Egypt, Nachat immigrated to the United States in 1972 to begin a new chapter of his life in Boston, where he lived for more than 40 years. Known for his creativity and curiosity, he was a natural problem-solver who loved fixing and inventing new things. An avid athlete, he enjoyed playing soccer and swimming throughout his life.
Nachat was predeceased by his parents, Naguib Eskander and Emily Amin Malaty; sister, Samia Iskander; and brother, Medhat Iskander.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia; son, Mark (Angela) Eskandar; grandchildren, Quinn and Samuel; brother, Esmat (Nagwa) Alexander; sisters, Laila Iskander and Madiha Soliman; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Nachat will also be greatly missed by his cherished cats, Zoe and Bella.
To celebrate Nachat’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary & St. Mina Coptic Orthodox Church, 106 Church St., North Syracuse.
A funeral service will follow at the church.
Nachat will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Ste. 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
