Private family services will be held for Nadine Abel, 99, of Fairmont, MN, with burial in Armstrong Grove Cemetery in Armstrong, IA. Nadine passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, at North Shore Living in Grand Marais, MN, where she had resided near family since 2019. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Nadine was born at home, on a farm near Dunnell, MN, on May 27, 1926. She was the daughter of Amelia W. (Kleine) Klusendorf and Herman F. Klusendorf.
Nadine worked at Minnesota Mining for 10 years and later at Weigh Tronix from the time it first opened until she retired in 1991. Nadine was a hard working and kind woman who loved God and her family so much. She is remembered by many for being a good cook and generously sharing the delicious things she whipped up. She loved to browse through cookbooks in her spare time, always looking for something new to try. Nadine enjoyed farm life, especially keeping the men fed, planting, tending a big garden every year, harvesting and preserving the produce. It was work that brought her much pride and joy.
Left to cherish Nadine's memory are her children, Charlie (Dawn) Davis, Peg Askeland, Mary (Mark) Glasnapp; grandchildren, Troy (Dawn) Askeland, Jacque (Michael) Moats, Heather Leiding, Jon (Annie) Davis, Adam Glasnapp, and Alex Glasnapp; 10 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Ellen Klusendorf; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Amelia and Herman Klusendorf; husband, Arthur (Babe) Abel; brother, William Klusendorf; sister, Mary Ellen Maday; brother-in-law, Donald Maday; and son-in-law, Tyrone Askeland.
