Memorial Service for Layne A. Theesfield, age 63, of Mesa, AZ, formerly of Fairmont, MN, will be 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Park in Fairmont. Layne passed away on October 16, 2025, at the Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Layne was born in Fairmont, Minnesota, where he was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church and graduated from Fairmont High School. He proudly served as a Fairmont firefighter for many years, a role he deeply valued and enjoyed. Layne later moved to Minneapolis and was employed by Northwest Airlines. In 2020, he relocated to Arizona, where he treasured the opportunity to be close to his mother during his remaining years.
Left to cherish Layne's memory is his devoted mother, Lanier. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry; and his brother, LaRon. He is also remembered with kindness by Kris, with whom he shared part of his life's journey; as well as by cousins Janae Greier and Jeanine Thompson; his beloved dog, Ozzy, who was like one of the family; and by extended family and friends who will forever hold his memory with love.
