It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Nadine Dimmler Gulledge, age 72, passed away on Memorial Day, May 27, 2024. Nadine was a patient at the Virginia Hospital Center, and we are grateful to all the hospital personnel who cared for her.
Nadine was born in New York and raised in West Hempstead, NY. She graduated from West Hempstead High School and went on to Georgetown University where she graduated in 1974 with a BS degree in Spanish. Nadine spoke Spanish fluently and used that ability throughout her life and career.
Nadine worked in the private sector with universities, trade associations, lobbying firms, and spent the last 17 years of her career as a library assistant and teaching assistant with Fairfax County Public Schools. She enjoyed working with special education students.
Nadine was a joy to be around, inheriting her gift of gab from her father, Ed, and enjoyed conversations with everyone. Nadine enjoyed people, and had a smile for all. She enjoyed cooking, was an avid reader, especially mysteries, and told many stories with her incredible memory. She was a lover of the arts- music and French impressionism.
Nadine leaves behind her spouse (Bill), son (Ryan), and daughter-in-law (Gabrielle Beauregard).
A visitation and mass will take place at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Reston, VA on Friday, June 7, starting at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nadine's name can be made to the American Kidney Fund or the charity of your choice.
