Nadine M. Orski Millett was born on May 26, 1945, to Loretta and Conrad Orski in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated from All Saints HS. She earned an AS from Suffolk County Community College, Selden, NY, a BS & MBS from Husson (College) University, Bangor, ME. Nadine taught Business and Technology subjects for 37 years. The last 25 years of which, she taught at John Bapst Memorial HS, Bangor, ME, and was an adjunct professor at Husson (College) University for 20 years. At Husson, she taught in the Dept. of Education. Nadine held the title of Senior Lecturer of Education. She taught advanced education courses and placed her students in their student teaching positions. Nadine had a passion for educating and loved every aspect of the field. In 1979, she was named Maine's Teacher of the Year and in 1996, she was named Maine's Business Teacher of the Year. She worked diligently to be sure her students of all levels were successful. She chaired many committees during her tenure and held many administrative positions. Nadine also evaluated private schools throughout New England for New England Association of Private Schools.
On June 22, 1968, Nadine married the love of her life, Stephen E. Millett. Together, they were very involved in raising their two sons, being part of the life of their community and at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, Brewer, ME. She was involved in all aspects of their sons' activities, such as the Boy Scouts of America in Eddington and Brewer, youth baseball, Boosters and as a Church Youth Group Advisor.
Nadine traveled to 40 of the great US states, most national parks, and much of Canada, 3 continents as well as many cruises. She had a love of history and nature. She loved to read, cook, good food, traveling and played Mah Jong.
Upon moving to The Plantation in Leesburg, FL in 2006, together they became active in their village and held leadership positions.
Nadine was devoted to her faith, church, and proud of her Polish heritage. She served as a Licensed Eucharistic Minister for over 35 years. She enjoyed being a lector and taking communion to shut-ins. She also chaired several church committees. In 2016, she was admitted to the Order of the Daughters of the King and served in its leadership positions until her death.
When Nadine met people, they were strangers but left as friends. As a tribute in honor or memory of Nadine, please perform random acts of kindness throughout your lives, for everyone you meet may be fighting a battle you know nothing about. Let the light of Christ shine through you for others to see.
Nadine was a devoted mother and grandmother and was proud of both her sons' accomplishments and those of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Steve, of 57 years, sons Scott (Gabriela), Jeffrey (Amy); Grandchildren: Delaney Millett, Gabrielle Felton; Ezare, Emma and Benjamin Millett; sister Deborah A. Welsh (Joseph), sister-in-law The Rev. Linda Hatch, niece Laura Hunt (Christopher), nephew Jonathan Hatch (Kristy), and many cousins.
Nadine's funeral will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, 204 Lee Street, Leesburg, FL on November 21, 2025, at 11am. A celebration of her life will follow the funeral service in the parish hall. Interment will be private at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Order of the Daughters of the King, St. James Episcopal Church, 204 Lee Street, Leesburg, FL 34748.

We are saddened by the loss of our dear sister in Christ . We know she is resting and rejoicing with her sweet Saviour. Prayers for comfort and peace go out to Steve and the family.
