Mayme Nadine Smith, 91, of Ellisville, passed away, Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Delmar Gardens in Chesterfield.
On March 18, 1933, Nadine, as she was known to most, was born to the union of Glenn Huffman & Mayme (Eads) in Camdenton, Missouri.
Nadine was a homemaker until the boys had grown up at which point she worked as a bookkeeper for Missouri Baptist College where she had also taken a few classes. She would later work for WeightWatchers until her retirement.
She was united in marriage to William Smith Sr. on November 17, 1956, in St. Louis.
Nadine was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading a good book, playing a round of golf and enjoying the light competitiveness of a good card or board game. Most of all Nadine loved her family and friends very much and she will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn & Mayme Huffman; her husband, William Smith Sr.; one son, Gregory and his wife Joanne Smith; three sisters, Ruth Perrigue, Mary Fleischmann and Ethel Backus; one brother, Charles Huffman; two grandsons, Daniel A. Smith and Drew R. Smith.
Nadine is survived by her son, William Smith Jr. and wife Cristiana of Eureka; siblings, Dorothy Southard of Jefferson City and Glen “Ike” Huffman of Kansas; one great-grandson, Tyler Smith of Ballwin; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
A Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon till 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Mizell Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 P.M. also on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Mizell Funeral Home. Burial and graveside service will take place at Rader Cemetery in Vienna, Missouri.
Memorial donations are appreciated to the Cuba United Methodist Church.
