Born on October 20, 1977, in Edenton, NC, Nakisha's life journey was one marked by compassion, service, and a deep commitment to her Christian faith.

Nakisha's early years were spent in the nurturing embrace of her family. Her parents, Mae and Rev. Lonnie Bush, instilled in her the values of kindness and service, which she carried throughout her life. Alongside her siblings, Kermit and Curtis Harrell, Tisha Bush, and Loni Crumb, Nakisha learned the importance of family bonds and the joy of being part of a loving, supportive community. Nakisha's zest for life was evident in her love of travel and the precious moments spent with her beloved children, Kaylan, Dylan Jr., and Kirsten Brock. Each adventure and shared experience was a treasure, a cherished memory that her family will hold dear forever. Nakisha has a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends, all of whom felt the warmth of her love and the strength of her spirit.

A proud graduate of Bertie High School in 1996, Nakisha's passion for education led her to further her studies at Winston Salem State University. Nakisha's vocation was a reflection of her desire to uplift others, particularly children. Her service at Mac's Village dedicated to supporting young people was a calling. She touched countless lives with her warmth and generosity.

As a Minister, Nakisha's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. She lived by the words of Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." This scripture was a source of solace and strength, guiding her through life's challenges and inspiring those around her to find their own faith and resilience. She was a devoted member of Real Life Ministries in Windsor, N.C.
