Our dear sweet angel mom, Nan Revoir Harris, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at the home of her daughter, Michelle Land, on Friday, March 3, 2023.
Mom was born May 19, 1944 to George Edwin Revoir and Elza Faun Thomas. Her family lived in Turner, Idaho on the family farm where she spent her childhood in the company of her dear parents, her siblings, Georgene, John and Kathy, her grandparents, great-grandparents, close friends and wonderful neighbors who she spoke about with much joy and the fondest memories.
Mom attended school in Grace, Idaho where she met and married her sweetheart, Michael Gerald Harris on Oct. 5, 1961. Their first home was a short stay in Boise, then they moved to Soda Springs by her sister Georgene and then made their way back to Thatcher on the Harris farm. Here they were blessed with three daughters.
In 1969 they bought a home in Grace, Idaho. Mom loved living in town. Here they were blessed with a son, Justin Michael, and their family was complete.
Mother was a wonderful homemaker, keeping a clean home, making wonderful meals, sewing clothes for her family, crocheting, she even taught herself how to cut and style hair, as she experimented on her children. Mom liked to garden and we learned to do home canning with her. She also learned she had a talent for oil painting making many paintings as her and he sister Kathy attended classes together.
She taught us many life skills, but she always made special time to spend with grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In 1979 Michael and Nan moved back to the Harris family farm in Thatcher where they worked many hours side by side in the fields to provide a good home and living for their family. Many more cherished life lessons and experiences were had there.
In 1992 they moved to Chubbuck to be close to their children and grandchildren. Here Nan began working with elderly people for a homemaking service company where she loved caring for their needs, cleaning and running errands and most times just a listening ear.
One of her favorite things to do was just going for long scenic rides in the car with Mike. They had a very sweet and lasting connection. When he passed away in 2009, she moved in with daughter Michelle and that was where she remained.
Nan was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints where she served diligently. She lived for her children and grandchildren and was the epitome of selfless service to all.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Elza Revoir, her loving husband Michael, her dear son Justin, a special grandson, Tyler Michael Gunn, her sister Georgene Haselman and her brother John Revoir.
Nan is survived by her dear sister Kathy Hansen Watts of Pocatello, Idaho and three daughters, Lori (Chuck) Smith of Thatcher, Idaho, Michelle Land, Chubbuck, Idaho and Amy (Larry Gunn), Chubbuck, Idaho. She is also survived by 20 precious grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren.
A private service and visitation for immediate family will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 11:00 am at Sims Funeral home in Soda Springs.
Nan will be buried at a later date at the Thatcher Cemetery.
