Nan Milton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Curlew Hills Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Dec. 6, 2025.
Nan Christie "Chris" Milton, a devoted mother and beloved friend of more people than she ever realized, passed away peacefully in her Palm Harbor, Florida home on December 1, 2025, from natural causes.
Born on February 17, 1962, in Baltimore, Maryland, to J. Norman and Cora ("Billie") Henkel, she graduated from Baltimore Lutheran High School and attended Catonsville Community College and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
She was married to Paul Milton in 1984, and in 1999, they welcomed their daughter, Gillian, who was always the light of her parents' lives. The couple divorced in 2018, but remained close.
Chris and Gillian moved to Florida in 2018..Chris chose Florida as her new home because her favorite days were spent on the beach. She particularly enjoyed Florida's Gulf Coast, the Florida Keys, Cancun, and Ocean City, Maryland.
Chris was a wonderful artist and used her creativity at the start of her career as a graphic designer. After moving to Florida, she channeled her artistic creativity outside of work. In her later years, she held several jobs, most recently as an account executive for Shaker Recruitment.
In addition to Gillian, Chris is survived by her two prized English Springer Spaniels, Zoe and Rigby.
As per her wishes, she was cremated, and a graveside service will be held in her honor in her hometown of Baltimore on January 17 at 11 a.m. at Loudon Park Cemetery (3620 Wilkens Ave, Baltimore, MD 21229). In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Mid-Atlantic English Springer Spaniel Rescue. (https://maessr.org/make-a-donation/)
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Psalm 23:1-6
