Nanci Gayle Barnes, age 70, of Gates, Oregon, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, in Molalla, Oregon.
Nanci was born on September 18, 1955, in Coos Bay, Oregon, to the late Eugene Bailey and Louise Day. She spent her early years in Coos Bay, where she was raised alongside her siblings. Nanci lived in Coos Bay from 1955 to 1989, later residing in Salem from 1989 to 2004, and most recently in Gates from 2004 until her passing.
On August 27, 1994, Nanci married Mark Barnes in Salem, Oregon. Together, they shared over 30 years of love, partnership, and family life.
Nanci earned her Associate Degree in Nursing and devoted much of her professional life to caring for others. She worked at Coos Bay Hospital and Salem Hospital and later contributed to the family business, Barnes Construction & Remodel.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Nanci is survived by her loving husband, Mark Barnes; her children, Summer Marie Sunford and Cody Lee Breedlove; and her grandchildren, Monica Marie Cebreros, Jayden Miles Garcia, and Bryson Cruz Garcia. She is also survived by her sister, Gloria Huntley.
Nanci had a passion for arts and crafts, gardening, boating, camping, and spending time with her friends and family. She will be remembered for her warmth, selflessness, and dedication to those she loved. She always strived to make a positive impact on others and was a constant source of support and comfort.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Louise; and her siblings, Bruce Williams and Deverley Williams.
Nanci’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
