Weddle Funeral Service - StaytonRonald Leon Hartsell, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on November 8, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on March 8, 1944, in Morgan Hill, California, Ron was the son of Warren and Lois Hartsell. Growing up with his siblings Larry, Sharon, and his late brother Streeter, he developed deep, lasting ties shaped by family, hard work, and loyalty.
Ron attended Mira Costa High School, graduating with the class of 1962. In 1974, he moved from California to Turner, Oregon, where he would spend the next five decades building a life grounded in dedication, craftsmanship, and a love for the outdoors.
A talented machinist for many years, Ron later continued his hardworking spirit as a truck driver, a role in which he found pride and purpose. His hands were seldom still he loved tinkering, repairing, and especially working on and driving hot rods. Outside the workshop, Ron found peace in nature. Hunting, fishing, and spending time under open skies were among his greatest joys.
Family was at the center of Ron’s life. He is survived by his children: Ronnie Hartsell, Chad Hartsell, Brittany Welty (Hartsell), and Maddee Hartsell. Ron was a proud and loving grandfather to Payton Wolfe, Cooper Hartsell, Joel Welty, Dylan Welty, Reid Welty, and Kyle Welty. He is also survived by his siblings Larry and Sharon, and is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Streeter.
Ron will be remembered for his steady presence, his generous spirit, his deep love for his family, and his appreciation for simple, honest living.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Emmanuel Bible Church. All who knew and loved Ron are invited to attend and share in honoring his memory.
