Doranna Lee Morris, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on October 30, 2025, in Mill City, Oregon, at the age of 73. Born on September 17, 1952, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Doranna was the cherished daughter of Doris Lynn (Atkinson) and James Foster Scott Jr.
Doranna graduated from Sunset High School in 1970 and soon after began a lifelong journey of love and devotion when she married Robert Morris on November 27, 1971, in Alameda County, California. Together, they built a life filled with warmth, laughter, and family. After 17 years in California, Doranna and her family settled in Albany, Oregon, where she would reside for the next 52 years, cultivating deep roots in the community she came to love before moving to Mill City, where she resided for the last 2 years.
Known for her artistic flair and steady hands, Doranna worked as a cake decorator in the Costco bakery where she made many friends of coworkers and customers. She had a gift for making friends everywhere she went. She touched the hearts of every person she met, and she was more of a mother to everyone she spoke to.
Doranna’s life was rich with passions and pursuits. She was a proud member of the ELKS Club, the Scottish Society, and the Rollin Oldies, where she shared her love of heritage, camaraderie, and classic cars. Her prized 1963 Nova SS, a source of pride and joy, was often showcased with her husband Robert, and they won many awards for showing.
At home, Doranna found peace and purpose in the rhythms of farm life. She lovingly cared for cows, goats, chickens, ducks, and dogs, and found solace in sewing, quilting, and crocheting, crafts that reflected her patience and creativity. Her happiest moments were spent with her grandchildren, especially during magical trips to Disneyland, where she delighted in creating lasting memories.
Doranna is survived by her husband, Robert Morris; devoted children: Jason Morris, Mathew Morris, and Michele Groshong. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren: Nichole Dekanu (Mykal), Mathew Morris (Gracie), Leilani Acosta (Juan), Makayla Hufeld (Dakota), Cadence Noble, Connor Morris, Nathan Morris, Evangaline Groshong, Samantha Morris, and Logan Groshong. Her joy extended to her great-grandchildren: Caleb Dekanu, Lucas Dekanu, Oakley Hufeld, Nohili Acosta, Paisley Hufeld, Eleanor Dekanu, and Elaina Morris.
She will be deeply missed by her siblings: James Foster Scott III, Wally Scott, Verlynda Hurn, and Robert (Bob) Scott. Doranna was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary McKoy.
