Nancie "Jean" Swartzlander was born November 25, 1952 near Radar, Missouri to Jess and Reba May Barker Dinwiddie. She departed this life in her home in Lebanon, Missouri on Friday, September 5, 2025 at the age of seventy-two years, nine months and eleven days. Jean grew up in Conway, Missouri and was one of fifteen children. She graduated from Conway High School. On July 3, 1980, Jean was united in marriage to Bernard Swartzlander. Jean lived most of her adult life in Lebanon and was employed at H.D. Lee for nearly thirty years. She made many wonderful friends there. After H.D. Lee closed, she went to work at Rue Industries and was there until she retired. Jean had given her life to Jesus and was an active member of her church. She attended Antioch Baptist Church, and later Millcreek Baptist Church. She served as a Sunday School teacher and volunteered in the kitchen. In her spare time, Jean enjoyed caring for her plants. Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Reba; her brothers, Donny, Darrell, Jimmy and Mike Dinwiddie; two grandsons, Bryan Kerns and Zach Rogers; and a great-grandson, Ashton Kerns. She is survived by her children, Scott Swartzlander of New Mexico, Jason Dinwiddie of Lebanon, Missouri and Philip Swartzlander and his wife Lee of Lebanon, Missouri and Stacye Rogers and her husband Jimmy and significant other, Jesse Turpen of Lebanon, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Destani, Shayla, Cameron, Amanda, Keith, Sammy, Austin, Raven, Lincoln and Jacqueline; sixteen great-grandchildren, Layton, Rhettly, Shilyn, Liam, Amber, Cayleigh, Masoa, Freya, Mary Lou, Richard, Aiya, Hailey, Keyanta, Elaina, William, and Abigail; a bonus grandchild, Elisa West; her brothers, David, Bill, Dennis and Danny Dinwiddie; her sisters, Anna Dinwiddie, Judy Huntley, Peggy Weaver, Shirley Perryman, Virginia Harry, Stella Huntley; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends; and her beloved dog, Piper.
