Leona Joanne Swartzlander, 92, of Wampum went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Providence Care Center.
Born December 2, 1932 in Penn Hills, she was the daughter of the late John W. Croft, Sr. and Ethel Marie Mains Croft. She married Donald A. Swartzlander, Sr. on September 27, 1952. They shared 46 years of marriage prior to his passing on October 5, 1998.
Joanne graduated from Penn Hills High School in 1950. A devout Christian, Joanne was a member of many churches throughout her life, most recently the First Baptist Church in Chewton. She enjoyed gardening, cooking delicious meals for her family and friends at church camp, and collecting bells. She served for years as a foster parent for the Bair Foundation, was an accomplished seamstress, and was a member of the Silver Sneakers. Above all, Joanne was a devoted homemaker and great mother who loved God and cherished moments with her family.
