Russon Brothers Mortuary - BountifulNancy Virginia Acord, 74, of West Bountiful, Utah, passed away on June 14th, 2025 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with dementia.
Nancy was born on September 20th, 1950, in Artesia, California to Mildred Sharbono.Growing up in the warmth of California sunshine, Nancy's early years were filled with curiosity and creativity. She carried these gifts with her as she journeyed through life, eventually planting roots in Utah, where she built a home overflowing with laughter, love, and the aroma of fresh coffee. A devoted mother and cherished friend, Nancy's kindness left an imprint on all who crossed her path. She found deep joy in the simple leasures-gardening, painting, and spending time with those she held dear.
One of the things that made Nancy (known to her grandchildren as Grams) so special is the way she loved people, just as they were. No matter how broken, lost, or different someone might have been, she saw them as they were. She didn't judge; she embraced. She chose kindness every time. She was safety, softness and strength all wrapped in one. Her home was always a safe and welcoming place for her family and friends; the location of frequent gatherings where she could be heard jokingly exclaiming, "I'm the only normal one in this crazy family!", "It's a wonder I don't drink!", or "suck face, bubble butt!'
Grams was a familiar face at Starbucks, where she kept the baristas laughing and they named a coffee drink after her: "The Nancy".
Nancy is survived by her daughters Lisa Payeur and Lynette (Shawn) Lloyd; son (adopted-in-love) Warren Harris; granddaughters Shawntae Wyatt (Brad), McKinley Rodgers (Kylee), Hailee Payeur, and Lyndsay Lloyd-Alzubaidi (Mohammad); sisters Berta Van Beber, Renee (Sam) Termine, Vivian Ramirez; brother C.D. Sharbono; and 7, soon to be 8, great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her mother, Mildred; her sister, Marie; and her husband, Reid.
A luncheon celebrating her life will be held on September 20th - which would have been her 75th birthday - at Eaglewood Events Center, 110 E Eaglewood Dr in North Salt Lake from 11am to 1pm.
