Nancy was a star athlete at the John Carroll School. As a teenager, she also played in the Women's Softball World Series. This began her lifelong passion for baseball. She rarely missed an Oriole's game.
She also studied Russian and frequently peppered her conversations with a phrase or too.
She was the only woman in an all-male company where she worked for 47 years. She never operated a crane but she eventually became part owner and managed the administrative and human resource functions and collections.
She greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, who remember her as a feminist and ardent supporter of human rights.
She was an excellent cook and baker. Her cream of crab soup was legendary, as was her 3 layer fudge birthday cake.
Her favorite foods were Maryland tomatoes and crab cakes and she loved the homemade mozzarella cheese at Mastellone.
With her green thumb, for years she had a cottage garden, loaded with English roses and peonies.
She rode and owned horses for many years.
She was interested in history and frequently went to Gettysburg.
For relaxation, she turned to the hot tub outside or a long hot soak in Dr. Teal's, inside. When she was not watching baseball, she watched her favorite television channel, Hallmark.
