Nancy Anish Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Evans Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services - Parkville on Dec. 13, 2025.
Nancy Lee Anish, affectionately known as Nan, of Lutherville, Maryland, passed away on December 9, 2025. She was born on April 5, 1951, in Maryland to the late Frank Thompson Sr. and Anita Schott.
Nancy was the devoted wife of the late Stephen Anish, with whom she shared 30 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2011. She was the loving sister of Frank Thompson Jr. and his wife Donna, and Mike Thompson Sr. and his wife Karen. Nancy was also the cherished aunt of Mike Thompson Jr. and his wife Kelsey, Nick Thompson and his wife Kim, Lauren and her husband Chad, Heather and her husband Carl. She is also survived by many loving great nieces and nephews. A true animal lover, Nancy was the proud dog mom of her beloved fur baby, Cookie.
Nancy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time at the beach, especially in Nags Head, North Carolina, where she enjoyed long walks and collecting sea glass. An avid reader, she could often be found curled up with a good mystery or romance novel and a glass of Chardonnay.
When she wasn't reading, she was enjoying her country music, and her favorite artist, Garth Brooks. Nancy was also a devoted dog lover throughout her life, with a special fondness for Labrador retrievers. A faithful fan of the Baltimore Orioles, she delighted in cheering on her team. She also loved to travel with her husband Steve-among her favorite adventures were trips to San Francisco, Bermuda and Colorado and many memorable fishing, hunting and skiing trips.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Nancy's life at the family owned Evans Life Celebration Home, 8800 Harford Road, Parkville, MD, for a Receiving of Friends on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Evans Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maryland SPCA, 3300 Falls Road, Baltimore, MD 21211-a fitting tribute to Nancy's lifelong love for animals.
