Norma Fendlay Belas of Glen Arm, MD, passed away on March 6, 2026 at Good Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness. She was 86 years old.

Norma graduated from Dundalk High School with the class of 1958 and worked as an administrative assistant for the Bethlehem Steel Company in Sparrows Point, Md.

She later partnered with her husband, John Belas, in founding and managing their business, Engineered Concepts.

Norma loved to entertain, hosting countless parties and celebrations in her beautiful home. She was an avid gardener and Bunco player who stayed in touch with family near and far and always looked forward to lunching with friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Belas, son Harvey Brandau, stepdaughter Kim Belas, and sister Joyce Willey.

Norma is survived by stepsons Mark and Greg Belas, sister Donna Denison, grandson Richard Brandau, two great-granddaughters, nieces and nephews Ron Conley, Scott Conley, Doug Denison, and Denice Burns, and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Also surviving her is dear friend and caregiver Nicole Sassafras and her children.

Services and internment will be private.

Donations may be made in Norma's name to Fork United Methodist Church, 12828 Fork Rd., Fork, MD. 21051.

I am so sorry to hear about dear sweet Norma. She was always a fun Bunco player and a terrific hostess when we played at her house. Norma and her family and friends are in my prayers.
