John Belas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Evans Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services - Parkville on Mar. 5, 2023.
John Joseph Belas, 81, of Glen Arm, Maryland, passed away on March 2, 2023. He was born February 25, 1942, in Pennsylvania. After graduating from high school, we went on to earn three master's degrees while working at Bethlehem Steel. There he worked as a Mechanical Engineer. It was during that time he met his second wife Norma. After leaving Bethlehem Steel, John used his engineering degree to open his own business, Engineered Concepts.
John loved to learn. He attended various schools to further his education. He transformed his love of learning to teach others the trade of HVAC at local community colleges.
John was adventurous. He enjoyed hunting, spending time on his sailboat, and traveling. He would go anywhere new, but really enjoyed his trips to Bermuda. In his later years, he enjoyed watching various local sports teams and John Wayne westerns. He was a funny, well-read man. Above all, John loved his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
John is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Norma Belas, and children Mark Belas, Greg Belas, and the late Kim Belas. He is a cherished grandfather, great-grandfather, mentor, and friend.
Family and friends may honor and celebrate John's life at the Evans Life Celebration Home- Parkville on Saturday, March 18th from 10-11 AM will an 11 AM funeral service. Interment Private.
