Nancy J. Antonetti, 84, of Iron Mountain, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Evergreen Meadows Assisted Living in Norway.
Nancy was born November 2, 1938, in
Kingsford, Michigan, daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Shefchik) Couveau. She graduated from Republic High School in 1956. Nancy married Donald Antonetti at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain on June 8, 1963. She worked for Michigan Bell as an operator, followed by Perina's, where she also modeled for various events. She finished her career at Franks Chiropractic, retiring in 1998, after 15 years.
Nancy was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she sang in the choir for many years. Her love of music also led her to sing in the Dickinson County Community Chorus. She enjoyed golfing and traveling with her husband, baking, cooking and passing on family traditions to her loved ones, which included making her favorite recipes - pizzelles, Texas sheet cake, Christmas cake and raviolis. Nancy lived a full life with her husband by her side to the very end of her battle with Alzheimer's. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald; two sons, David Antonetti of Kingsford and Daniel (Konya) Antonetti of
Reedsburg, Wisconsin; her daughter, Diane (Chris) Wilcox of Quinnesec; siblings, Joan Witte, Jean Mosley, Joseph (Sandy) Couveau, Judy (Joseph) Valente, Jeff (Barbara) Couveau, Amy (Bill) Dale, and June Machus; seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Austin) Lucas, Cammie (Josh) Bergman, Luke (Angelica) Antonetti, Tony Antonetti, Elizabeth Harrison and Ethan and Toby Wilcox; four great-grandchildren, Josephine, Royce, Rosalie, and Koga; sister-in-law, Joanne Schetter; sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Ron Gendron.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a sister, Janet (Bill) Larch; a brother, John (Mary) Couveau, two infant siblings Helen Joy and Gary; four brother-in-laws, Gilbert With, Pete Machus, Skip Mosley, and Gary Schetter; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Gary Clifford.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the exceptional care and love that the staff at Evergreen Meadows Memory Care provided to Nancy during her residency.
Visitation will be from 8:30 am to 11:30 am on Monday, May 1st at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash funeral home in Iron Mountain. The Mass of Christian Burial will be officiated by Fr. Michael Chenier at noon at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Burial will take place at Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or the Michigan Chapter of the
Alzheimer's Association.
