Nancy Baker Maynor Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kilpatrick Funeral Home - West Monroe on Jan. 29, 2026.
With profound love and deep sorrow, we said goodbye to our loving wife, mother, Nana, sister and friend, Nancy Elizabeth Baker Maynor. Nancy entered eternal rest on January 25, 2026 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Nancy was born on February 24, 1947 and raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and was brought to Louisiana when her "Honey" finished his service with the U.S.M.C. in April 1970. She spent most of her adult life teaching first grade in Ouachita Parish.
After retiring, Kenny and Nancy finished their goal of visiting the 49 continental U.S. states. They didn't go to Hawaii. They fished, hiked, camped and mountain climbed at the envy of their friends. Nancy loved her Lord and loved studying the scriptures. She also loved working crossword puzzles IN INK!
Nancy was preceded in death by granddaughter, Brooklyn Elizabeth Maynor; father, Carl James Baker; mother, Lois Henry Baker; sisters, Shelby Kingery Martin and Wanda Muse Adams.
Nancy is survived by her Honey of 56 years, Paul Kenneth Maynor; their children, Kathy Maynor Kennedy (Ricky), Brian Maynor (Dawn); grandchildren, Cody Kennedy (Ashley), Kenan Maynor, Kendall Maynor, Savannah Kennedy, Caroline Jones (Dustin), Karsen Rose (Daniel) and Kaleb Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Carter, Grant, June, Bennett and Cody, Jr.; sister, Brenda Baker Poff; brother, Claude Baker (Kathy); and other cherished family and friends.
Honoring Nancy as pallbearers are Kenny Maynor, Brian Maynor, Cody Kennedy, Kenan Maynor, Carter Jones, Dustin Jones, Daniel Rose and Ricky Marcantel. Honorary pallbearers are Claude Baker and Kaleb Kennedy.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 2, 2026 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe. Pastor Waymond Warren and Bro. Larry Linson will officiate. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens, under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes, West Monroe. A visitation for family and friends will be held at 1:00 PM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, Nancy requests a donation to one of her favorite charities or to a Fair Park Baptist Church Fund of your choice.
