Nancy Barker Obituary

Nancy attended school in Anna, Texas, and graduated with the Class of 1959 from Anna High School.
Nancy enjoyed spending time gardening. Most of all, Nancy loved her family. She looked forward to and cherished every moment with her grandchildren, offering wisdom, patience, and lots of love.
Nancy is survived by her children, Clint Barker (wife, Becky), Heather Zimmerman (husband, Kevin), and Chad Barker (wife, Misty); grandchildren, Cody Barker, Shannon Barker, Tyler Barker, Madison Frank, and Peyton Barker; great grandchildren Hadleigh Wedel and Walker Wedel; brother, James Dunnaway; sister, Donna Russell; and a host of other loving family and friends, who will dearly miss her and cherish her memory.
Nancy was preceded in death by her mother Mary Tommie (Marsh) Garner; daughter, Shannon Paige Barker; and granddaughter, Hailey Faith Barker.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The service will also be live streamed at the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/nancy-dunnaway-barker. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Following the funeral, a private family committal service will take place at Ridgeview Memorial Park.

Nancy´s personality drew people to her. Her laughter was loud and cheerful. I found her to be warm, friendly, and accepting of others. She made me feel part of her group at a time I needed friends.
