Nancy Belcher Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, DeVore Chapel on Apr. 28, 2025.
Nancy Irene Belcher, age 85, of Sunbury, Ohio passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025, peacefully at home with family by her side. She was born in Schoenbrunn, Ohio on April 1, 1940, to the late Marion Westhafer and Viola (Thompson) Westhafer.
On July 29, 1961, she eloped and married Larry Belcher in Monroe, Michigan. Together they shared 42 wonderful years of marriage. Nancy lived in Hawaii and North Carolina during the time Larry served in the U.S.M.C. but made Sunbury her home for the past 60 years of her life.
Nancy enjoyed traveling with friends and playing cards with girlfriends for almost 60 years. She was an Ohio Eastern Star and a member of Sunbury United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Nancy worked as a hairdresser at various salons for over 60 years and made many friends during her career. One of her proudest achievements was her celebration of friendship with Nina Maxymenko in Ukraine for the past 27 years.
Nancy was a hardworking woman that was always willing to do what she could to help others. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jill (Brian) Huck and Ashley Keener; grandchildren, Nick and Sophia; siblings, Ron (Shirley) Westhafer, Sally (Robert) Eckert, and Phillip (Sue) Westhafer; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry Belcher; and her significant other, Dominic Aurillo.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Capital City Hospice for allowing them to keep Nancy at home and comfortable.
A gathering will take place on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 3:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. with a memorial service beginning at 5:00 P.M. at Snyder Funeral Homes, DeVore Chapel, 637 North State Route 61, Sunbury, Ohio 43074. Joyce Pinson will be officiating.
