Mrs. Nancy Glory Dean Bell, 78, of Peoria IL, transitioned to her heavenly home at 9:15 am on Friday July 11, 2025 at her home. Nancy was born on September 16, 1946 in Hope, Arkansas to proud parents Ezell and Elle (Nesbitt) Burton. Nancy married the love of her life, Joe Bell, Sr. on May 5, 1968 and to their union two children were born. Nancy attended the college of business in New York City and received a Business Management Degree. She also attended Sangamon College University receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management in Springfield, IL on December 19, 1987. She went on to further her education in finance at Illinois Central College and Bradley University. Nancy had an amazing work ethic and career. She initially worked for the US Army writing letters to families. She went on from there to work at Central Illinois Agency on Aging. She worked there for over 25 years managing the department of Medicare. She was the sole owner of Nancy Bell Income Tax Service for over 20 years. She enjoyed doing income taxes and working with the Medicare patients. Nancy was a lifetime member at Star of Hope Full Gospel Church where she was an usher, Sunday school teacher and financial treasurer. She enjoyed her fur coats, designer hand bags and jewelry. Nancy was a people person. She loved to talk to people and encourage them. Her arms were always open in welcoming others into her home for a bite to eat. If she eats you eat. Nancy always had a smile on her face. She loved to sing even though she could not carry a note but she would not let that stop her. Nancy loved to preach the Word of God even though she had no paper license. She loved the Lord with all her mind soul and strength. Nancy believed that the Word of God is true and that God would do just what He said He would do. Nancy would often remind us to "Don't forget to take care of my Joe". Nancy leaves to cherish her most precious memory, her husband of 57 years, Joe Bell, Sr.; one grandchild, Destinee Bell; two great-grandsons, Cruz Gonzalez, II and Tezzaire Gonzalez all of Peoria; one brother, George (Shirley) Burton of Chicago, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, God children, friends and lifelong friends who were there by her side through her transition. She is preceded in death by her parents; two children, Neveda Bell and Joe Bell, Jr.; five brothers, Darnell Burton, Nathell Burton, Tommy Burton, Joe Melvin Burton and Robert Burton and three sisters, Martha Burton, Jewel Hardimon and Dorothy Burton. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Star of Hope Full Gospel Church with a visitation beginning at 9 am. Pastor Vance Jordan will officiate. Nancy will be laid to rest at Parkview Mausoleum. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made to SimonsMortuary.com.
