Nancy Birschbach Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Zacherl Funeral Home - Fond du Lac from Nov. 24 to Nov. 25, 2025.
Nancy Ann Birschbach, age 66, of St. Cloud, passed away unexpectedly with family at her side on November 20, 2025, at ThedaCare Medical Center Neenah.
Nancy was born on June 23, 1959 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Delbert and Valeria (Muellenbach) Birschbach. She graduated from L.P. Goodrich High School in 1977 and worked at Kondex Corporation for 30 years, retiring in 2023. She attended church at Holy Family Parish.
Growing up on the family dairy farm east of Fond du Lac instilled the value and virtue of hard work which followed Nancy her entire life. Although a hard worker, she also knew how to have fun while working, either on the job at Kondex or if working on projects with family. And once work was complete, she was never one to refuse a cold one, sometimes two, along with some lighthearted banter and reminiscing. She was someone who could always be counted on to lend a helping hand. All who knew her will remember her as being a generous, trustworthy and dependable daughter, friend, co-worker, sister and aunt.
Nancy will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews for her fun-loving spirit; she was the quintessential "fun Aunt". She delighted in planning, cooking, baking and grilling for summer cookouts, birthdays and holiday gatherings. Aunty Nancy made sure Christmas was fun for the kids, young and old, with games and presents for all.
Since retirement she battled with Mother Nature, always trying to increase her tomato crop to ensure she'd have enough for canning. The success of each season was measured by the number of quarts gifted to family and friends. She spent many hours and took pride in gardening, tending to her yard and hummingbird feeders. Nancy enjoyed hosting card playing luncheons and traveling with a close-knit group of friends.
Each week she made a few trips into town, to the "post office", funny how most post offices in the Holyland are near a tavern.
Nancy is survived by a brother, Ken (Diane) Birschbach; four sisters, Debra Sarauer, Darlene Sarauer, Sharon (Bill) Thern, and Sandy Brodnax; all from Fond du Lac. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mike J. Birschbach; infant sister, Mary Jane; brother-in-law, Bob Sarauer; her grandparents, including her beloved paternal grandmother, Olive "Grammy" Birschbach; and dear friend, Donna Zuehlke, and niece-in-law, Erin Sarauer.
A private celebration of Nancy's life is being held. Burial will take place at St. Charles Cemetery.
