Nancy Karen Brummett

Nancy Karen Brummett (1947-2025), 78, of Gonzales, TX passed away on August 30th, in Humble, TX surrounded by her family. She was born to Walter and Mildred McElroy in Fort Worth, TX in January of 1947 who then moved to Houston, TX when she was a young girl. Through her long life she was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Karen's greatest joy was her family, friends, and dogs (Sassy and Cookie).
Karen was a retail Jeweler for many years, but made a career for herself in Apartment Management where she managed many large communities for over 30 years. Although Karen had a long career as an Apartment Manager in her own community of Gonzales, TX, this was more of a means to an end that allowed her to spend more time with those she loved.
Karen was married to Maurice "Bud" Brummett for 34 lovely years. Bud preceded her in death at home in Gonzales, TX on July 29, 2023. A mother of two children, a grandmother to four, and a great grandmother to two, Karen's kitchen was the gathering place for every Thanksgiving Celebration filled with love and laughter, where her family and friends were always invited! Karen had a knack for remembering everyone's birthday and loved sending cards and cookies to let them know she was thinking of them. Everyone that knew her would say she didn't know a stranger. She hugged everyone and was generous with her time and possessions. Karen always said, "Don't miss an opportunity to tell people you love them". She did this well!. We love you Mom!
Karen is survived by her two children David Stokes and wife, Cellina of Humble, TX; Jenna Findley and husband, Randy of Lago Vista, TX; 2nd son by marriage and heart - Daniel Brummet and wife, Trish of Corpus Christi and their families. Grandchildren Chelsea and husband Kyle, Brooke and husband Michael, Jessica, Jacelyn. Great grandchildren Andelyn, and Arabella. All who will never forget the love she brought into their lives.
