Nancy Childs Obituary
Born in Washington DC, she was a daughter of the late William and Sadie Yount. Nancy belonged to the FOP for 20 years and was a retired officer of the U.S. Capitol Police. She loved walking and collecting shells on the beach and enjoyed country music.
Surviving in addition to her husband Robert are three children, A son, Jim Childs; two daughters, Jennifer Childs and Christa Childs; a sister, Gerry Harwick (Stephen) a nephew, Jesse Harwick (Erica) and a niece, Rebecca Ardenfriend (Adam).
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.

Nancy was a longtime friend and coworker. She was among the first women hired by the United States Capitol Police at a time when Law Enforcement was considered a man's job. She served honorably and proved to be an asset to the Department. I'll miss her smile, gentle and kind personality, and our conversations at the USCP retired officer's annual luncheons in Myrtle Beach.
