Nancy Carter Cohen, born November 8, 1941, in
Boston, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy was raised in Winthrop, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Charles and Mildred
Carter. From an early age, she displayed spirited independence that she inspired in others. One favorite family story tells of her quietly entering the Miss Winthrop pageant-and winning. This small but bold act captured her confidence, grace, and humility, and it never failed to bring a smile to those who knew the story.
In November 1963, Nancy married the love of her life, Kenneth B. Cohen, beginning a partnership that spanned 62 wonderful years. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three daughters, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories.
Nancy and Ken shared a love of travel, especially to warm beaches with dear friends. They cherished many family vacations in Florida and spent 11 memorable years enjoying the island of Aruba, often alongside their best friends, Bobby and Janice Howard.
Nancy was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister, and a proud grandmother and great grandmother. She lived her life guided by a deep and abiding Catholic faith, which shaped her values, gave her strength, and brought her comfort throughout her life. She went above and beyond for everyone she knew, always offering help and an open door to her home. Nancy loved to cook, host holidays, and shop-a passion she joyfully passed down to the women in her family.
Among her many accomplishments, Nancy and Kenny built successful careers as owners and founders of KC Electric Co., proudly affiliated with Boston's IBEW Local 103. In the trade, they established themselves as an esteemed contractor with notable projects such as The Big Dig and Deer Island Water Treatment Plant.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth B. Cohen; her daughter, Dedra Cohen Twomey and her husband Myles Twomey; her daughter, Lois Cohen; her brother John Carter and his late wife Peggy; her brother Fred Carter and his wife Christine Carter; her grandchildren Dakota Cohen Burrill, Alexandra Twomey, Elizabeth Twomey, Kenneth Calabrese, Angela Calabrese, and Joseph Calabrese; her nieces and nephews, Fred Carter Jr., Douglas Carter, Joshua Carter, Colleen Carter, and Shannon Carter; and her great-grandchildren Ethan Burrill, Reese Burrill, Alexander Stickney, and Harper Stickney.
She was predeceased by her parents; her daughter Kimberly Cohen; her grandson Dillon Cohen; and her brothers Charlie Carter and Robert Carter.
In accordance with her wishes there will be no services. Nancy's legacy of love, generosity, strength, and devotion to family lives on through all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
