Nancy Conners

On Monday, May 5th, 2025, Nancy L. Conners of Morgantown passed away at the age of 84.
Nancy is survived by her three daughters, Brenda Jasper (Cary) of Morgantown, Karen Conners (Randy Davis) of Reedsville, and Beverly Clemmer (Brad Brown) of Wheeling. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Ann Squires (Lowell) of Morgantown and Betty Smith of Dayton, OH.
Nancy, or Grandma Nancy as she was called by many, loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren infinitely. To carry on her legacy of caring and kindness are her grandchildren Brittany Jasper (Cameron Quirk), Alix Hamden, Kathryn Clemmer, Nathanael Clemmer and Grace Clemmer. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Emmett and Knox Quirk.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Jack (John) Conners; her parents Bea and Ralph Watkins; sister Norma; and brothers Ralph, James, Charles, and John.
Nancy loved spending time in her garden and flowers. It's the first place she went in the morning when the weather allowed. They say you are closer to God's heart in the garden. We believe that, and so did she. She loved it, so we loved it.
Nancy also loved sewing, knitting, crocheting, and doing crafts. Many people were recipients of her handiwork and expertise in repairs. She also loved baking - something her mother and sister Mary Ann both did very well. We were recipients of the best bread - sometimes imitated, never duplicated.
Nancy's faith was unwavering and we know she is in God's loving arms.
Her family wishes to extend a very special thanks to her care team: Danielle Watkins, Cindy Dunn, Kathy Nicholson, and Maryann Bankhead. We are forever grateful.
Family and friends may join to honor Nancy's life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover (304-292-9494) on Thursday, May 8th from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm officiated by Pastor Junius Lewis. Following the funeral service, Nancy will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Jack at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in a service held for only the immediate family.
