Nancy Cope

Nancy J. Cope, 91, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away August 17, 2025. She was born in Salem, MO and a graduate of University of Tulsa. Her love of travel lead her to a career with the U.S. Foreign Service Dept. becoming Vice Consul and lived in many places in the world earning many outstanding achievement awards. A most challenging post was Sanaa, Yemen 1990-1992 where the U.S. staff was evacuated during the 1st Gulf War. She enjoyed cruises her entire life. She retired in Santa Fe, sang in the church choir and volunteered at the Santa Fe Opera House. Eventually, Nancy moved to Florida enjoying the culture and friendships that lasted the rest of her life. She still had a beautiful voice even in her last years. She is survived by her niece Ann Sprinkle Hoofnagle and her nephew Clifton W. Sprinkle. There will be a private memorial service in Santa Fe at a later date.
