Nancy Cuddihy passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 21, 2025. Nan was born in St. Johnsbury, VT on Feb. 25, 1948. Her father, William J. Walker (born in Quebec) and her mother Mildred E. Lynch (born in Colebrook, NH) shortly thereafter moved the family to Littleton, NH where Nan spent her childhood, graduating from Littleton High School class of 1966. She spent a half year at the Mary Hitchcock School of Nursing in Hanover, but found she was more interested in the liberal arts program at Boston University from which she graduated in 1971 with a BA in English literature. Her father died in 1968; Nancy moved back to Littleton not long after her mother died in 1973. She and her husband, Tom Cuddihy, got married in 1977 in London, during one of their several trips to England, Ireland, and Europe, and eventually bought and moved into the old farmhouse on Tip Top Road in Bethlehem that would be her home for 44 years. She leaves behind her husband and two children, Margaret Hocking and Michael Cuddihy, and three grandchildren-Hazel Hocking, and Campbell and Indy Cuddihy-whom she absolutely adored. Nancy was a full-time mom who also focused on volunteer work, helping out at Bethlehem Elementary School, the Littleton library, driving for Meals on Wheels, and serving on the vestry of All Saints' Episcopal Church in Littleton. She devoted the rest of her time to helping run the family farm-Windy Poplars Farm. It was a small operation with chickens, sheep, donkeys, and Bandit the horse. That, along with maintaining the vegetable and flower gardens, gave her great pleasure and gave the kids a beautiful and wholsesome place to grow up. During the last two decades of her life she included time to write and make regular posts to her "Letters from a Hill Farm" blog. She wrote about her life, rural life in general, music, and the many books and writers who she took an interest in. If you really want to get to know who she was as a person, you may read 20 years of posts at https://lettersfromahillfarm.blogspot.com In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to North Country Home Health and Hospice Agency, 536 Cottage Street, Littleton, NH.
