Nancy E. (West) DeBoe, 70, of Marshfield, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on July 4, 2024, after a long illness. Nancy was born in Holden, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Frederick L. West Jr. and Annette V. (Gaudreau) West. Nancy moved to Marshfield in 1965, graduated from Marshfield High School in 1972, and then Fitchburg State College in 1976. Nancy went on to teach for Marshfield Public Schools for over 30 years before her retirement in 2015.
Nancy is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Robert, her daughter, Elizabeth and Matt of Marshfield, MA and her son Ryan and Hannah of Marshfield, MA. She was the loving Grammy of four grandsons: Theo, Colin, Myles, and Calvin.
Nancy was always willing and never hesitated to check in on and help out her friends and family. She was a compassionate teacher who loved being around kids and teaching them how to read. She also loved reading and would have various library books scattered throughout the house. She loved to cook and bake and kept countless handwritten recipes of her favorite dishes. Throughout the years she loved spending summer days at Rexhame beach collecting sea glass. Her easy-going personality, positivity, kindness, thoughtfulness, and calming presence will be missed by all.
Nancy's ashes will be placed in the wall in the Couch Memorial Cemetery. Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy's memory may be made to Cranberry Hospice, by mail to 36 Cordage Park Circle, Plymouth MA 02360 or the Alzheimer's Association, online at https://www.alz.org/manh

First I am so sorry for your loss. I meet Nancy and Robert working at Star Market in the deli. They use to come on a regular basis and we use to have a quick 5-10 min conversation of how I am a teacher and how Nancy taught school. When she got sick you use to bring her in to say hi to us. Robert you are the most kindest, compassionate, loving husband there is, and I could see it in Nancy´s eyes when she would look at you. When she got too bad to visit you would make sure someone was always with her. I even volunteered to come by with your cold cuts so you didn´t have to leave her but you-thanked me and said you would come by with an update on Nancy. After you would leave the deli I would turn to one of my co-workers and say I could have been so lucky, and I hope my daughter´s husband turns out like you. I want to thank you coming in to tell us that she had passed, just sorry I didn´t get to see you. Hope you know that she will be in my thoughts and prayers. Sorry for your loss. Diane Dougherty
