Edmund E. Sayward Sr. of Carver passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, at the age of 79. Son of the late Lyman and Marion Sayward. Beloved husband of Sandra L. (Milligan) Sayward. Loving father of Edmund Sayward Jr. and his wife Judy of Plymouth, and Brian Sayward and his wife Gretchen of Freeport, Maine. Cherished grandfather ("Bupa") to Brittney, Corey, Samantha, Rachel, Brian Jr., and Tess, and proud great-grandfather ("Bupa") to Ariella and Jameson. He also leaves behind his loving siblings, Don Sayward and his wife Sue of Plymouth, and Susan Nicastro and her husband Joe of Weymouth, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Ed was a man of many interests. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, and traveling, but some of his fondest memories came from coaching his boys in hockey and baseball as they grew up. His greatest joy in life, however, was his family. His proudest achievement was the love he found in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He lit up with each and every one of them, cheering them on in all that they did.

He is survived by his devoted wife and soulmate of 61 years, Sandy, the love of his life. Together they built a life filled with laughter, devotion, and cherished memories. Ed will be remembered for his quick wit, his love of sharing stories from the past, and his ability to bring joy to those around him. Funny, caring, and deeply loved, he leaves behind a lasting hole in the hearts of all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 12:00–3:00 p.m. at MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street, Marshfield, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed's memory to The Salvation Army, an organization that was especially close to his heart, online at: https://www.salvationarmyusa.org/, as well as the American Cancer Society, online at: https://www.cancer.org/
