Eric George Sayward, age 60, passed away peacefully at the Blueberry Hill Nursing Center in Beverly on January 25, 2025. Born on January 20, 1965, Eric was the beloved son of Samuel Stowe Sayward Jr. and his wife Ann of Danvers, and Kathleen (MacQuarrie) Cole, who predeceased him, and her husband Barry Cole of San Diego.
Eric grew up in Danvers and Beverly, where he was educated and graduated from the Claude H. Patton Vocational High School. A skilled machinist by trade, Eric dedicated many years of his life to his work.
Eric had a passion for sports, music, and politics, and he was known for his kind heart and ability to connect with people. He had a way of making conversations feel easy, and his warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he leaves two sisters, Amy Scotti and her husband Kevin of Beverly, and Sue Hourihan and her husband Brendan of Danvers, his sister-in-law, Carla Sayward of New York; and his cherished nieces and nephews: John, Aly, Patrick, Maeve, Adam, Corey, and Emily. He was also the proud godfather of Eric Winslow and a dear friend to Ed and Lisa Winslow, Mark White, Mark Stevens, and David Freeman.
Eric was predeceased by his brother, Sam Sayward III, and a nephew, K. Joseph Scotti.
