Nancy Downey Obituary
Nancy Downey, born on May 15, 1930, in Los Angeles, California, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the age of 95. She was a dedicated and compassionate individual who devoted her life to serving others through her work as a Public Health Registered Nurse.
Nancy pursued higher education with a commitment to excellence, earning her Master's Degree and using her knowledge and skills to make a meaningful impact in the field of public health.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Karl Janka. Nancy is survived by a loving network of extended family and friends who cherished her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support.
A memorial service to celebrate Nancy's life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered condolences and support during this time. Nancy will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.
