Obituary published on Legacy.com by Honaker Funeral Home on Feb. 28, 2023.
Nancy Eldreth, age 77, of Honaker, Virginia passed away Saturday (February 25, 2023) in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital. Born September 4, 1945 in Jefferson, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Pearl Eldreth Salmons. She was a graduate of Ashe Central High School and a member of Honaker Church of Christ. She was employed as a CNA and had a passion for taking care of other people, which she displayed lovingly as she cared for the residents at Grace Healthcare in Abingdon, Virginia. She devoted her time and attention to making sure the needs of "her little people" were met and would have continued to work if her health had permitted. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her cats, Ella and Honey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Eldreth; brothers, J.D., Billy Ray, Thomas, and Carlton; sister, Rosie and two infant siblings.
Survivors include two children, Tammy Taylor of Honaker, Virginia, Jeff Eldreth and wife, Shannon of Mendota, Virginia; son-in-law, Randy Taylor of Honaker, Virginia; three grandchildren, Matthew Taylor, Nanci JoAnn Barnhart and husband, Eric, and Kirsten Laslie and companion, Travis; five great-grandchildren, Kenleigh Barnhart, Kainyn Barnhart, Norah Barnhart, Aspen Laslie and Mallory Hall; one sister, Pat and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 PM Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Randy Taylor officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 PM Wednesday at Big Flatts Baptist Church Cemetery 2373 Big Flatts Church Road, Fleetwood, North Carolina 28626. Those wishing to attend are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
The family will receive friends after 6 PM Tuesday at Honaker Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Nancy Eldreth Memorial Fund c/o Honaker Funeral Home P.O. Box 1620 Honaker, VA 24260.
