Nancy Eley Obituary
Nancy Eley, age 82, a resident of rural Portland, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Persimmon Ridge in Portland.
Nancy was born May 21, 1943, in Jay County, the daughter of Homer and Helen (Burkey) Caylor. She worked at Cox Manufacturing in Ridgeville and the Salamonie Reservoir. Nancy married Ronald Eley on January 16, 1960 and he passed away on August 16, 2001.
Survivors include:
Her children: Rhonda Dotson (husband Jim) – Union City, Indiana
Elaine Eley – Portland, Indiana
Craig Eley (wife Christine) – Union City, Indiana
Michael Eley (wife Tami) – Portland, Indiana
5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Earl Caylor, Larry Caylor, Donald Caylor, Hazel Pitman, Pat France and Edith Burkhalter.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Salamonia Cemetery in Salamonia, Indiana.
Memorials may be directed towards Jay County Heart Fund or Jay County Cancer Society.
