Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Nancy Prevatte Evans, age 90, of Sanders Street died Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Cardinal Care in Dunn surrounded by love. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Friday, February 10, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Four Oaks. Officiating will be Rev. John Norman. Burial will follow in Four Oaks City Cemetery, Four Oaks.
Mrs. Evans was born January 26, 1933 in Robeson County to the late Hubert Rae Prevatte and Mary Wilma Capps Prevatte. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Evans; a son-in-law, Gary Blackmon, great- grandson, Lucas Daniel Jackson; sisters, Rebecca P. Tyner and Hazel Ruth Prevatte. Mrs. Evans was a devoted homemaker. She was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Four Oaks where she served as a Sunday School teacher, an ordained deaconess, and served in many other capacities. Mrs. Evans grew up on the family farm with four sisters. She met the love of her life, Bob Evans at the age of seventeen years old. They shared a beautiful life together for 62 years. Mrs. Evans loved her family instilling morals and values, teaching and guiding through life. She loved cooking and there was always a place at her table. Mrs. Evans loved working in her yards and sharing vegetables from the garden. She was active in Relay for Life of Johnston County.
Surviving include Sons & Daughter-in-law, Robert Michael Evans and William Ross and Amy J. Evans, all of Four Oaks; Daughters and Son-in-law, Debra E. Blackmon and Candy E. and John Littleton, all of Four Oaks; six Grandchildren; and eight Great-Grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy P. Townsend of Charlotte, Helen P. Odum and husband, Charles of Ocean Isle Beach; many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 9:45AM to 10:45AM on Friday, February 10, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Four Oaks prior to the service and other times at the home of Candy and John Littleton.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Youth Department, First Baptist Church of Four Oaks, P. O. Box 717, Four Oaks, NC 27524.
