Nancy Warner was born in Fremont, Nebraska, the youngest of six children. She attended Trinity Lutheran School for six years. Shortly after the United States entered World War II, Nancy's elder siblings moved to the Pacific Northwest to find better jobs and contribute to the war effort. The Kaiser shipyards provided such an opportunity for many in her family. Nancy, brother Donny, and mother Helen then drove west. Portland had been her home since 1943. Nancy's depression era upbringing in a large and loving family of modest means informed her life values as a member of the Silent Generation.
Nancy graduated from Washington High School after marrying Kermit Fancher. Their marriage was blessed with three sons. She said raising, nurturing, and loving her family, including her four grandchildren and three great grandchildren was the best part -greatest joy- of her long healthy life. She cherished her whole family. All of us.
Nancy was confirmed in her faith at (Old) Trinity in Portland. Membership at Holy Cross Lutheran Church began in 1962. She was active in youth work, adult bible study, and regularly attended.
Nancy loved family, home, nature, thrift store shopping, and Bingo. She dedicated her life to family and Jesus Christ.
Everyone loved Nancy.
