Nancy M. Finocchiaro, age 81, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
Nancy was the oldest of five children-and the only daughter-born to the late Richard B. and Lillian C. Millar. She was predeceased by her brother, Michael Millar, and is survived by her three esteemed brothers-Richard, George, and John Millar-and their families. She is also survived by her three sons, whom she loved with all her heart: Joseph, Wayne (wife JoAnn), and Richard Finocchiaro; her cherished grandchildren-Savannah Estle-Finocchiaro, T., Hunter, Alexis (Jones), Noah, Lillian, RJ, Justin, and JD Finocchiaro; and her treasured great-grandchildren-Kaydence, Karter, Naomi, and Levi Jones, and Rylan, Nolan, and Oaklan Estle-Finocchiaro.
Nancy had a comical sense of humor and a quiet strength that made her a steady, reassuring presence in the lives of those she loved. Throughout her life, she was someone others leaned on-always ready to step in gently and offer support when family members faced hard times. She enjoyed reading, visiting with family, watching the Hallmark channel, and spending time with her loyal dog, Lucky. Nancy was deeply loved, she mattered, and she will not be forgotten.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Gracelawn Memorial Park Cemetery in New Castle, DE.
The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Nancy's memory to the Delaware Literacy Alliance, to honor her love of reading and her quiet, unwavering commitment to helping others whenever she could.
