Nancy Lee Fitzwater

Nancy Lee Fitzwater, 79, of Rio, WV passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Hospice of the Panhandle facility, Kearneysville, WV.

Born on February 14, 1946 in Lost River, WV, she was the daughter of the late Otis Davis Sager and Ruby K. (Bare) Sager.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Fitzwater on April 18, 2018 and by 2 sisters, Barbara Robinson and Betty Miller.

She is survived by her children, Lisa Watts (Lee) of Rio, WV, Tim Fitzwater of Rio, WV, a granddaughter, Caitlin Fitwater (fiancée Nick) of Staunton, VA, and her siblings, Patsy Dove of Timberville, VA, Carol Bailey, Catherine See, Sandra Barb, Phyllis Yonkey, all of Mathias, WV, Michael Sager of Lost River, WV and Larry Sager of Timberville, VA.

Nancy was active in her church and community and was a member of the Sperry's Run Community Church and the Ladies Aide. She loved to bake pies and spend time with her family. She was especially proud of her granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Sperry's Run Community Church, Baker, WV with Pastors Aaron Himes and Danny Bailey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
