Nancy Burch Fowler passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Pisgah Manor Nursing Facility.
She was born September 10, 1935. Nancy was the daughter of the late James and Ernestine Burch. She grew up in Canton and was a graduate of Canton High School. She married Donald Fowler in 1953.
Nancy was a member of Morning Star Methodist Church. She loved painting Santas, cooking, reading, and working outside in her yard at their log home. She also loved decorating. Nancy and Donald enjoyed spending time at their camper at Lake Chatuge where they spent time with friends at the campground. Nancy loved spending time with her family and listening to gospel music. Her grandsons and great-grandsons held a special place in her heart.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Fowler, whom she was married to for 66 years. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tamara Fowler; a sister, Georgianne Burch Scroggs; and a brother, David Burch.
She is survived by two sons, Steve Fowler (Donna) and Scott Fowler (Karen). Alongside her sons, she is also survived by her loving brother Richard Burch. Grandsons Geoffrey Fowler, Christopher Fowler, and Joshua Fowler. She adored her two great-grandsons, Abel Fowler and Calvin Fowler, and always enjoyed their visits.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Morning Star Community Cemetery with Pastor Mike Leslie conducting the service. The family will receive friends prior from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
Memorials may be made to Center Pigeon Fire Department, P.O. Box 875, Canton, NC 28716, or to Operation Christmas Child, in care of Ridgeway Baptist Church, 525 Old US 19-23 Highway, Candler, NC.
