Nancy Karen George

With deep love and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Nancy K. George on June 4, 2025, at the age of 76. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Nancy lived a life marked by quiet strength, heartfelt generosity, and enduring faith.
Born on October 17, 1948, Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late George and Alice Joseph.
Nancy's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving brother, Kenneth (Gina) Joseph, and her children, Damian (Hayah) George and Alicia K. George, and her cherished grandchildren, Noura, Luca, and Fayrouz, who brought light and laughter into her life. She also had a deep love for her grand-dogs, who held a special place in her heart.
Nancy was a proud graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Library Science, while she worked in the admissions office for the College of General Studies. She loved reading, and worked many years as a Librarian, most recently at Scott Township Library, where her warmth and helpful spirit touched both colleagues and patrons alike.
Creative and endlessly generous, Nancy found joy in baking, cooking, quilting, crocheting, and sewing, and was known for her thoughtful, handmade gifts. She also loved to shop-especially on QVC-where she had a talent for finding the perfect presents for those she loved.
A lifelong and devoted member of St. George Orthodox Cathedral, Nancy's faith was the foundation of her life. Her presence and service in the church community were a source of strength and inspiration to many.
Nancy leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, faith, and selfless giving. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
