Nancy Adenia Geschke

Nancy Adenia Geschke, age 92 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, at 11:11 PM. Nancy was born October 29, 1931, in Houston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband L.C. "Larry" Geschke; parents A.N. "Buck" Sory and Edna Earl Sory; and sister Mickie Sory Veale Lepley.
Nancy is survived by her daughter Ida Beth Geschke and numerous nieces and nephews. She took great delight in being an aunt, great aunt, great great aunt, and great great great aunt.
Nancy was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School and was a proud member of the Scottish Brigade, serving as the Captain of Company A in her senior year.
Nancy was an avid quilter and folk artist who loved making clothing, home décor, Christmas ornaments, and many gifts for her loved ones. As a young woman, she played the accordion and sang in church and at weddings and other special events. She was an accomplished bowler who participated in many tournaments and coached a youth bowling league. Nancy was a talented pastry artist who enjoyed making beautiful birthday and wedding cakes for family, friends, and customers of her cottage industry. As a mom, Nancy served many years in PTA and was a Girl Scout leader of Brownies and Juniors. In more recent years, she enjoyed container gardening and bird watching. She looked forward to the arrival of her hummingbirds every spring and loved watching them drink from the feeders in her yard.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 2:22 PM - 3:33 PM, with a memorial service starting at 3:33 PM.
