Nancy Robinson Gilmore Johnson 74, of Houston, Texas, passed away on April 4, 2025. She was born on October 7, 1950 in Alabama. She was raised in Campbell, Alabama, and moved to Abilene in 1970.
On August 7, 1971, she married Billy Howard Gilmore. They had three children and together they shared many years of love and memories until Billy's heavenly departure in 1999. Nancy found love again and married Ronnie B. Johnson on July 7, 2012. With this marriage Nancy gained a bonus daughter and son. Together Nancy and Ronnie enjoyed many fun times until his passing in 2018.
She was a proud graduate of Cisco Junior College, earning her nursing degree in 1986. Nancy had a dedicated career, working and caring for individuals at the Abilene State and Supported Living Facility for 17 years, in addition to that, she spent many years working at Hendrick Medical Center.
A longtime member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church, until she moved to Houston and joined the Sugar Land Church of God. Even after moving to Houston, Texas Nancy continued to be a faithful member of the New Light Outside the Wall Women's Ministry.
Nancy leaves behind cherished memories with her son, Terry Gilmore of Houston, Texas; her daughters, Montoya Burton of Atlanta, Georgia, Theleesa (David) Jasmin of Houston, Texas and Ronda Johnson of Abilene, Texas: nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; her loving mother, Berneice Lassiter, of Campbell, Alabama, brothers, Jerry (Deborah) Robinson of Jackson, Alabama, Demetres (Tonya) Robinson of Jackson Alabama, Derrick (Clarissa) Robinson of Morvin, Alabama; and her sisters, Celestine Daugherty of Abilene, Texas, Corine Johnson of Detroit, Michigan, Sarah Thomas of Chicago, Illinois, Bonnie Robinson Brown (Israel) of Jackson, Alabama, Sharron (James) McDow of Abilene, Texas, Barbara Caraway of Thomasville, Alabama, Dolores Jean Sloan of Abilene, Texas and sister in love Mildred (Randy) Steinman of Abilene, Texas: and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Billy Gilmore, Ronnie Johnson; her father, Condy Lee Robinson; her brothers, Melvin Robinson, Roy Robinson, Carlton Robinson, and her sisters Wanda Robinson, Vivian Howell, Janice McClain, and bonus son Andrew Johnson.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 14, at 11:00 AM at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 518 N. 6th St, Abilene, Texas. With burial to follow at the Texas State Veteran Cemetery at 1pm. Visitation will take place on Sunday, April 13, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM at North's Funeral Home.
Nancy will always be remembered for her love of family, her dedication to her community, and her unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

This is very sad to hear. She was a kind and loving person to everyone she knew. Always giving and a person that if you knew her, you cannot forget. We are very sorry for the loss and pray for comfort and peace to all family and friends.
