Nancy Gohm Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Trahan Funeral Chapel & Prearrangement Center on Jan. 13, 2025.
Nancy Castillo Gohm, age 75, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, January 12, 2025. The daughter of the late Lorenzo and Ricarda (Perez) Castillo, she was born on October 8, 1949 in Munger, Michigan. Nancy was a graduate of Bay City Central High School. She worked for many years as a seamstress at Wolverine Knitting Mills and then at the Bay City Times – Valley Publishing. Nancy had a strong Christian faith and loved to attend services at her church, the Tri-County Worship Center in Auburn. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, playing cards and taking an occasional trip to the casino. As the oldest of the 14 Castillo children, Nancy became the matriarch of the family after the sudden and early death of her mother not long after the birth the last child. Nancy and her husband Dave moved in and gave her younger siblings a caring and loving upbringing, and they are truly grateful for that and will miss her dearly.
On October 1, 1966 Nancy was united in marriage to David J. Gohm and he preceded her in death on February 27, 2023. She is survived by four brothers and seven sisters, Stanley (Janice) Perez, Larry (Linda) Castillo, Virginia Grauherr, Isabel (Tom) Cleary, Lupe (Patricia) Castillo, Teresa George, Helen Trerice, Mary Buczek and Scott Paige, Esther (Tom) Fuller, Felix Castillo, and Ricarda (Alex) Facundo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Nancy was also preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Henry and Gladys Gohm; two brothers, Henry Castillo and Rick Castillo; two brothers-in-law, John W. Buczek and Douglas Trerice; a nephew, Austin J.L. Facundo; and two nieces, Sheila Mateos and Kendra Castillo.
A Memorial Service will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Tri-County Worship Center, 609 W. Midland Rd. in Auburn, with Pastor Andrew Ledesma officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. The family suggests donations in Nancy's memory to Tri-County Worship Center.
