Mrs. Nancy Ann Granger Smith's journey began in Norfolk, Virginia on August 26, 1941, a day that marked the start of a life filled with love, compassion, and unwavering dedication. On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, she peacefully embraced her eternal rest. Funeral Services will be held at Pine Prairie Church of Christ on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Science Hill Cemetery. Funeral Service officiated by Brother Charles Seal and Brother Larry Johnson.
In the tapestry of her life, Nancy was preceded in death by cherished souls - her beloved husband, Roland Rufus Smith; her parents, Clifford Granger and Mary Celeste Landreneau Granger; her brother, Charles Granger; and her grandson, Dustin Cole.
A beacon of love and warmth, Nancy shared 47 years of pure devotion with Roland Rufus Smith. Their union brought forth the blessings of three children - Sherwood Lan Smith and his wife, Humari Aaiba of Kamakura, Japan, Chad Smith of Mamou, and Tanya Bordelon with her husband, Luke of Mamou. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Amber Bordelon of Paragould, AR.
In the realm of care and compassion, Nancy's light shone brightly as she dedicated her days as a Registered Nurse, weaving bonds that would stand the test of time. If she wasn’t in the kitchen cooking, you could find her outside caring for her many animals. Not a stray passed by unaided; not an animal suffered in her presence.
To those who knew her, Nancy was a pillar of unwavering support - always extending a hand where it was needed most. The memories crafted in their hearts during moments shared with her will forever be cherished. The echoes of her laughter and the imprint of her kindness will resonate in the lives she touched.
As we bid farewell to Mrs. Nancy Ann Granger Smith in this realm, let us carry forward the light of her spirit - let us nurture it within ourselves and spread it to all we encounter. In our hearts, she shall live on eternally as a testament to the profound impact love can have on this world.
