In the early morning on October 1, 2025, Nancy Houser Guidry set sail on her final journey. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend.

Nancy lived her life with courage, warmth, and spirit. Known for her entertaining personality and her gift for making friends wherever she went, she was a steady presence for those fortunate enough to know her. Her strength, honesty, and sense of humor left a lasting mark on everyone she encountered. She loved animals dearly, and her newest fur baby, Lilly, was always in her arms.

Her adventurous heart carried her through many chapters of life—motherhood, her career as a nurse, her love of horses, and her devotion to family and friends. She crossed the Atlantic Ocean several times with the love of her life, Dr. Leslie Guidry. Though sailing was his passion more than hers, she went because she loved him—and that was how she lived: making choices shaped by love. The way she lived reflected her resilience and determination to keep moving forward, no matter what life brought. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and laughter.

Nancy is survived by her two children, Stephen Hutchins and Jean Hutchins; her grandson, Taylor Richert; her sister, Susan Stapleton; and her beloved dog, Lilly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Leslie Guidry; her parents, John and Mary Houser; and dear friends who went before her.

She will be remembered as a mother, sister, and friend who was always up for a good laugh, as well as a woman who embraced life with an unshakable spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
